Wash and apply fiber etch

  1. Weigh the soap
    Calculate 1% of the fabric weight.
  2. Dissolve the soap
    Use dishwashing liquid only. We recommend Biovert (pH neutral soap).
  3. Add the fabric
    Make sure the fabric is not bunched up.
  4. Soak one hour
  5. Rinse
  6. Measure alum
    Use the provided alum. No need to measure :)
  7. Dissolve alum
  8. Soak the fabric
  9. Heat the water to 90 °C
  10. Cook for one hour, stirring regularly
    Make sure the temperature remains at 90 °C.
  11. Rinse
