I get a sample from the embroidery and as I’m starting to get a little hungry, I decide to give myself an hour for lunch at the restaurant. I want a Duchess waffle and the reassuring atmosphere of ordinary mornings in my native suburbs. The restaurant is divided into two sections and I ask to be seated near the window. Hi, I would like a bench seat at the back, if possible. The waitress compliments my pale pink leather boots. A little coffee my dear? Yes, and a pencil please. I take out of my bag the piece of gold embroidered cotton, I draw a few silhouettes and I write “breath, body, mind and heart” on my scalloped white paper doily.
